Land Use Planning in New Hampshire
In New Hampshire, local governing bodies (municipal, county, township, city, or otherwise) derive their authority to engage in comprehensive land use planning and to promulgate land use ordinances (e.g., zoning) from the New Hampshire state government. The state grants this authority to localities statutorily through N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. §§ 672:1-674:4.
